Kathy Fauble, BS, M.Ed Director, ICAHN Professional Education Services

As Director of Professional Education Services, Kathy collaborates with ICAHN member hospitals to develop and deliver education programs that address the evolving needs of rural healthcare team members.

Kathy holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Illinois State University, and a master’s degree in education with a concentration in Human Resource Development from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This educational foundation allows her to blend communication strategies with adult learning principles in varying aspects of her work.

At ICAHN, she is involved in many projects, ranging from writing and managing grants to planning conferences, workshops, and other professional development events. She enjoys partnering with diverse committees and workgroups to identify needs and shape meaningful educational offerings that drive real impact in rural health settings.

What do you love about rural healthcare?

I have spent my career in rural health and am passionate about the work we do here at ICAHN to support our member hospitals. Rural hospitals are the backbone of their communities — often serving as the largest employer, the primary source of healthcare, and a key contributor to local stability and well-being. When a rural hospital struggles, the entire community feels the impact, from limited access to care to economic decline. Every year it seems to get a little tougher for rural health providers, but I have the privilege of working with hospital leaders and staff who are passionate about what they do and who face many challenges with an attitude of positiveness. It is inspiring to be part of group of people who are always working to make healthcare and people’s lives better in the communities they serve. Advocating for and supporting our member hospitals through education, resources, and collaboration, helps rural hospitals succeed. I am honored to play a role in this success.
