Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day, in-person interactive workshop in suicide first aid.
Trusted by professionals, approved by the World Health Organization, and accessible to anyone, ASIST equips participants with the skills to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide and how to intervene with confidence and care. The training includes powerful audiovisuals, group discussions, and hands-on simulations to support effective learning.
Participants will learn how to:
-
Recognize when someone may be at risk of suicide
-
Provide a compassionate and skilled intervention
-
Develop a collaborative safety plan
-
Connect the person to further resources and ongoing support
Led by two knowledgeable and supportive trainers, ASIST provides a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Anyone aged 16 or older can attend—no prior training or experience is required.
This evidence-based program is widely implemented across healthcare systems, schools, first responder agencies, and community organizations. To date, nearly 1.5 million people worldwide have been trained in LivingWorks ASIST.
