New Resource for Hospitals: Vaccine Confidence Toolkit
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Hospital Quality Improvement Contractor (HQIC) Initiative has partnered with Cynosure Health, IMPAQ International, PFCCPartners, and 10 other hospital associations to reduce patient harm, address the COVID pandemic and the opioid epidemic, and improve care transitions.
HQIC partners have developed a Building Vaccine Confidence Toolkit (“Building Vaccine Confidence, Acceptance, and Advocacy among Health Care Workers”), a free resource that utilizes materials and best practices available to equip hospitals with information and strategies for increasing vaccine acceptance in their hospital and the community. This toolkit is targeted for healthcare workers and includes key drivers for vaccine acceptance, specific types of resistance/fears, and is focused on engagement strategies for local influencers. The toolkit also answers common questions about the vaccines while providing scripts/role play, PowerPoint presentations, and videos for healthcare workers.
The toolkit includes:
- Instructions and background on how to use the toolkit;
- Customizable PowerPoint presentation for hospital staff; and
- “I Got Vaccinated” printable signage for hospital staff to use and share on social media.
