Paid preceptorship program available in Gibson City
The application deadline of March 14 for the six-week Rural Interprofessional Preceptorship Program is fast approaching. The National Center for Rural Health Professions is seeking health professions students from ALL disciplines to apply, including, but not limited to: medicine, pharmacy, nursing, public health, PT/OT, dentistry, and behavioral health.
The Preceptorship program is a paid, full-time internship now available in three rural Illinois communities: Centralia, Dixon, and Gibson City. Four students are selected for each site and spend each week shadowing healthcare professionals within the community.
Students work together in weekly classroom sessions and for their Community Service Learning (CSL) project, which is the culminating experience of the program and allows students to apply their understanding of healthcare to a real-life community health priority.
Students will receive housing and basic meals during the experience in addition to a $1,500 stipend. For more information, check out ncrhp.uic.edu.
