Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center acquires Heartland Health System, Inc.
Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, located in Mattoon, IL, completed the purchase of Heartland Health System, Inc., dba Fayette County Hospital & Long Term Care on June 27. Sarah Bush Lincoln now owns 100% of Heartland Health System. Fayette County Hospital & Long Term Care has been operated by Heartland Health System since January 1, 2005. Heartland Health System was created by a group of investors for the purpose of operating the hospital and long-term care facility. The investors are all engaged in consulting services for other hospitals and healthcare entities, and they invested their personal funds. Fayette County Hospital District board members approved a five-year contract with Heartland Health System for Heartland Health System to continue operating the hospital, beginning July 1, 2019.
