Don Robbins, CEO, Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, Lawrenceville, was named Secretary-Treasurer to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) during its annual conference. In his new role, Mr. Robbins will support the organization and its mission to strengthen and provide assistance and resources to its 58 member hospitals.

“Don is passionate about the continued success of rural hospitals and the betterment of rural healthcare in general,” said Pat Schou, ICAHN Executive Director. “He has been a longtime supporter of our mission, serving on our Board and other committees and workgroups, for several years and is exceptional about bringing people together, collaborating on mutually beneficial projects, and making things happen. He will definitely be an asset to the Executive Board.”

A native of Sesser, IL, Don is a healthcare operations’ executive with 29 years of progressive administrative leadership in the field. He earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and began his career as an allied healthcare practitioner, working in clinical therapy and sports medicine as a certified/licensed athletic trainer. He later earned a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Seton Hall University.

Robbins has held many different roles in his career managing orthopedic facilities, surgical clinics, and outpatient healthcare facilities in multiple states. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a board member of the Illinois Rural Community Care Organization (IRCCO) as well as a University of Illinois/Illinois Extension Council Member. Robbins is active in the Lawrence County Rotary Club, the Lawrence County Industrial Development Council, and is a member of the Chevron Lawrence County Advisory Panel.

In 2022, under his leadership, Lawrence County Memorial Hospital was recognized for being in the top 10% of all critical access hospitals in the country for safety/inpatient, and also, care transitions quality measures.
