Kim Bourne named as new member of ICAHN Board

Kim Bourne, FACHE, President and CEO, Taylorville Memorial Hospital, was named as a new member of the 2023 Board of Directors for the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN). In her new role, Ms. Bourne will support the organization and its mission to strengthen and provide assistance and resources to its 58 critical access and small, rural hospital members.
“Kim has an amazing wealth of knowledge she brings to this position, from both a rural hospital and system perspective,” said Pat Schou, ICAHN Executive Director. “In addition to 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, she will soon be completing the National Rural Health Association’s Rural Hospital CEO Certification Program. We’re truly excited to have her as part of our Board and look forward to working with her in the year ahead.”
In addition to serving on the ICAHN Board, Ms. Bourne is also a member of the ICAHN Issues Committee and the ICAHN Legislative and Regulatory Committee. She obtained her Master of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN). She and her husband have three adult children and one grandchild and are actively involved with their church and its outreach in the community.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to be more involved with ICAHN and have been impressed with how ICAHN and the leaders of critical access hospitals support each other to improve the care provided in our rural communities,” said Bourne.
In 2022, under Ms. Bourne’s leadership, Taylorville Memorial Hospital was recognized for being in the top 10% of all critical access hospitals in the country for outpatient quality measures.
ICAHN hospitals serve as the primary and emergency provider for 1.4 million rural residents across the state of Illinois.
